CRANFORD - On Sept. 19, the Union County College Practical Nursing Program earned national recognition from the National League for Nursing in receiving the Hearst Foundations’ Excellence in Geriatric Education Award.
Union County College Adds Two Full-Time Faculty Members This Fall
With the start of the fall semester on September 3, 2014, Union County College welcomed two new full-time faculty members to the College for the 2014-2015 academic year. Patricia Green-Douglass joins the Business Department and Roberto Garcia joins the English/Fine Arts/Modern Languages Department and will be teaching English courses.
Union County College’s Women’s Soccer Team Ranked 10th in the Nation
The Union County College Women’s Soccer team has begun their season with an undefeated status and are in tenth place nationally in Division III of the National Junior College Athletic Association. Their current record is 5-0. On Sept. 24, 2014, they defeated Bucks County Community College with a score of 6-0.

Students Park Only in Bollwage Garage in Elizabeth
Beginning this Fall Semester, the Bollwage Garage on West Jersey Street is the only parking facility for students in credit classes at the Elizabeth Campus.

Union County College American Honors Program

Union County College has launched an honors program to attract the County’s brightest students and give them the inside track toward transfer to the nation’s top universities. American Honors is a national program that provides high-achieving community college graduates with a pathway to complete their bachelor’s degree at some of the top four-year universities in the country. Union has begun enrolling students in the American Honors program, with the first cohort entering the College in the Fall of 2014. The American Honors program builds on Union’s rich heritage of preparing transfer-minded students for success. The College has a strong, talented and dedicated faculty that understands how to teach all students - from those who come to us academically unprepared for college to those who have excelled in high school. Union’s American Honors program will provide personalized advising for the highest-achieving students and will open doors to some of the nation’s best universities. Community college students who graduate as American Honors participants have been accepted to such prestigious universities as Stanford, Cornell, Georgetown, Vanderbilt, Michigan, USC, and Purdue, and have received significant financial scholarships after transferring. Union County College is one of only two colleges in New Jersey to offer this program.
